Classroom Management

I truly believe that most children respond better to positive reinforcement rather than negative. This behavior plan will give children the opportunity to move colors based on positive and negative choices through out the day.  All students will begin on green everyday.  Children will be able to move up from green (blue, pink, and purple) by showing positive behavior, such as being helpful, being a good listener, etc.  If a student is breaking a rule, they will move off of green and down to yellow, orange, or red.  If the student’s behavior improves they can work their way back to green.  In this way the child will not feel like the entire day is ruined because of one mistake.  At red the child’s parents will be contacted via phone call, note, or e-mail.  The consequences for a negative choice will be loss of recess or other special privileges.    

 

Please check your child’s planner each night to see how their day went; we will record student’s color for the day in the planner.
